To our members & the greater Bruin community:
On behalf of the Executive Committee, I am pleased to announce that Brandon Eicher (’07) has returned to UCLA to serve as the Director of the UCLA Venture Capital Fund. As many of you know, Brandon worked with the UCLA VC Fund from 2008 to 2010. During this time, Brandon helped recruit more than 40 new members to the Fund, establishing an impressive network of UCLA-affiliated entrepreneurs and venture capitalists. This network served as a critical foundational element for much of the Fund’s recent growth and success.
Prior to returning to UCLA, Brandon earned a Master’s degree in International Relations and International Economics with a specialization in Finance from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. He then moved to Chicago, where he worked with GG+A’s higher education practice area. While at GG+A, Brandon served an impressive client list, which included Cornell University, Dartmouth College, INSEAD, Johns Hopkins University, Princeton University, and the University of Queensland, among others.
I also want to announce that Michael Silton is leaving his position as both UCLA VC Fund Chairman and Executive Committee member to focus on Act One Ventures, an early-stage venture fund that invests in UCLA-affiliated startups. While this is an exciting step for Michael, it’s a bittersweet move for the rest of us. Over the last three and a half years, Michael, along with the UCLA staff and many of our members, has accomplished many great achievements for the Fund. In particular, the Fund has grown into a large group of successful entrepreneurs.
Additionally, the UCLA VC Fund manages a great investment portfolio, as well as hosts a broad range of programming aimed at fostering the entrepreneurial ecosystem in and around UCLA. On behalf of the entire membership, I want to thank Michael for his efforts and achievements to help bring the Fund to its current successful profile. I am confident that Brandon will help to take us to even higher levels of achievement. Please look for join me in welcoming Brandon back to the UCLA VC Fund.
