George Scott unites a passion for high-level finance, results-driven expertise and strategic communication to “take companies where they want to go.” From global Fortune 500s to forward-reaching startups, he helps businesses maximize holistic value through a commitment to high levels of integrity and transparency. His areas of expertise include business planning and analysis, financial modeling, mergers and acquisitions, value-added process integration, executive counsel and raising venture capital.
George is the President and Chairman of the Board of Equibid, an emerging company that is exploring new ways to leverage technology and data to improve the home purchase process. He is currently focused on helping next gen-tech companies achieve short- and long-term goals as a strategic advisor and part-time CFO. He most recently developed strategic growth plans and helped raise more than $1 million in Series A capital for two SAAS-based/high-growth startups. These firms are on pace to double revenues—which he knows because he also maintains their P&L responsibility.
Previously, George served as director corporate strategy for CoreLogic, a global, publicly traded company that provides financial, property, and consumer information as well as analytics and business intelligence. His laser-sharp focus on improving corporate messaging and external disclosures led to a doubling of the CLGX market cap, from nearly $1.3 billion to $3.3 billion. He also engaged in strategic financial analysis to support executive decision-making that spanned more than $1 billion in acquisition targets and more than $500 million in successful merger and acquisition transactions. Also worth noting is his development of a five-year strategic operating plan that increased the EBITDA margin from 22% to 29%, doubling free cash flow to $200 million per year.
In addition, George’s professional experience includes tenures with Freddie Mac, where he served as Manager of Financial Analysis in the Office of the Chief Economist and fixed income analyst. He launched his career with Accenture Consulting, where he engaged in strategic consultancy, reengineered workflows, and implemented rigorous management reporting and controls processes for Fortune 50 clients.
Born and raised in the South to a family of financiers, George graduated from the George Mason University School of Management. He earned his MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management with a concentration in corporate finance. He is an avid fly fisherman and is actively involved with several conservationist groups.
